What we do

Roof systems we replace

Three roof types cover almost every home in our territory, and picking the wrong one is the single most expensive mistake in this trade. Here is when each applies.

Our core work. Full tear-off to the deck, never a layover.

Shingle Roof Replacement

Architectural asphalt shingles from manufacturers with real warranty backing. Every replacement includes deck inspection and re-sheeting where needed, ice-and-water shield at eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment, new drip edge, new pipe boots, and a properly sized ridge vent.

  • Complete tear-off to the deck
  • Rotten sheathing replaced, not covered
  • Ice & water shield at eaves and valleys
  • Ridge and intake ventilation sized to the attic

A 50-year roof with concealed fasteners and no exposed screw heads.

Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Standing seam panels lock together at raised vertical seams with the fasteners hidden underneath, so there are no rubber washers sitting in the weather waiting to fail. It is the right call on low-slope sections, additions, porches, barns, and any home where you intend to stay put.

  • Concealed fastener system
  • Snow and ice shed cleanly
  • Standard and custom panel colors
  • Excellent over low-slope additions

Rubber membrane for the roofs shingles were never meant to cover.

EPDM & Flat Roofing

Flat and low-slope roofs — porches, additions, rowhome mains, commercial decks — get a fully adhered or mechanically fastened EPDM membrane with heat-welded seams and proper edge termination. We correct the drainage pitch and add scuppers or drains where water has been standing.

  • Fully adhered or mechanically fastened
  • Seams sealed and terminated properly
  • Standing-water and drainage correction
  • Ideal for porch and addition roofs

We will work with your insurance carrier if that is the path.

Storm Damage & Insurance Claims

Wind and hail damage is often a covered loss. We document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and work the claim through to a scope that actually covers the repair. If the damage is not covered, we will tell you that plainly instead of pushing a claim that will not hold.

  • Full photo documentation
  • We meet the adjuster on site
  • Supplement work when the scope falls short
  • Straight answer if it is not a claim

The reason most roofs die a decade early.

Ventilation & Attic Airflow

A roof with exhaust but no intake — or exhaust stacked three different ways — cooks shingles from underneath and voids manufacturer coverage. We calculate net free area for your attic and build a balanced intake and ridge exhaust system into the replacement.

  • Net free area calculated, not guessed
  • Balanced intake and ridge exhaust
  • Mixed-exhaust short-circuits corrected
  • Protects the shingle warranty

Roofs almost never fail in the field. They fail at the edges.

Flashing, Gutters & Roof Details

Chimneys, sidewalls, valleys, skylights, and gutter lines are where water actually gets in. We replace step and counter-flashing rather than caulking over the old, and we can hang new seamless gutter and replace fascia and soffit while the staging is already up.

  • New step and counter-flashing
  • Chimney and skylight re-flashing
  • Seamless gutter, fascia and soffit
  • Valley rebuilds

About us

Two brothers, one trade, three decades of it

Brothers Joe and Tom Lesher founded Rook Roofing in 2026 — but neither of them started in 2026.

They grew up in the trades in Feasterville, Pennsylvania, working alongside their father Mike. That is where both of them learned what a job done right looks like, and what it costs a homeowner when it is not. Joe and Tom are both graduates of Neshaminy High School in Langhorne.

Tom has been a tradesman since 2014. Joe has been a contractor since 2018. Rook Roofing is what they built when they decided to put both of those careers behind one name — a veteran owned company serving the same Bucks County towns they were raised in, plus five counties around them.

The rook is the piece that holds the corner. That is the job.

Why Rook

The rook holds the corner

It is the piece that protects the position and does not move diagonally to get there. That is the standard we hold ourselves to on a roof.

Veteran owned and operated

Rook is run the way it was learned: show up when you said, do the work you quoted, and stand behind it after the check clears.

Tear-off, never a layover

Shingling over an existing roof hides the deck, adds weight, and cuts the life of the new material. We take it to the deck every time and look at what is under there.

Six counties, local crews

Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Delaware and Lancaster. Close enough that a warranty call is a drive, not a dispatch.

Insurance claims handled properly

We document, meet the adjuster, and supplement when the scope comes back short — and we tell you honestly when it is not a claim.

Straight quotes, no pressure close

A written scope you can compare line by line. No today-only pricing, no sitting at your kitchen table until you sign.

How it goes

From call to clean-up

Call or text

Tell us what you are seeing — a leak, missing shingles, a roof that is simply old. We will ask a few questions and schedule the look.

On-roof inspection

We get on the roof, photograph everything, and check the attic for ventilation and moisture where we can access it.

Written scope

You get a line-by-line scope and price, including what happens if we find bad decking once the old roof is off.

Tear-off and install

Most homes are one day. Property protected, magnet-swept at the end, and we do not leave a roof open overnight.

Questions

Roofing questions, answered plainly

How much does a roof replacement cost in southeastern PA?
Most full asphalt shingle replacements we quote across Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Delaware and Lancaster Counties land in a wide band driven by square footage, pitch, number of layers to tear off, and how much sheathing has to be replaced. Standing seam metal runs meaningfully higher up front and lasts roughly twice as long. We do not publish a per-square price because a number quoted before anyone has been on your roof is a number that changes later. The estimate is free and it is firm.
Do you work with insurance companies?
Yes. If your roof was damaged by wind or hail, we document it, meet your adjuster on site, and work the claim through to a scope that covers the actual repair. We will also tell you when damage is wear-and-tear rather than a covered loss, because a denied claim on your record helps nobody.
Are you licensed and insured in Pennsylvania?
Rook Roofing operates as Fortress Siding, LLC dba Rook Roofing under Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor registration PA203681, and carries liability and workers' compensation coverage. We will send certificates before work starts if you want them on file.
Is Rook Roofing veteran owned?
Yes. Rook Roofing is veteran owned and operated, and part of the Lesher Holdings family of Pennsylvania home-services brands alongside Fortress Siding.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family asphalt shingle replacements are a one-day tear-off and install, with larger or steeper roofs running two. Standing seam metal takes longer because panels are formed to length and the detail work at hips, valleys and penetrations is slower. We give you the real schedule before we start and we do not leave a roof open overnight.
Can you just repair my roof instead of replacing it?
Sometimes, and we will say so. A roof with one bad valley and fifteen good years left is a repair. A roof that is losing granules across every plane and has been patched three times is a replacement, and more patching just spends money on the way there. We will tell you which one you have.
What is EPDM and do I need it?
EPDM is a rubber membrane for flat and low-slope roofs. If you have a porch roof, a flat addition, or a rowhome main roof, shingles will not seal it — they need pitch to shed water. Those surfaces need a membrane, and installing shingle on them is one of the most common causes of the leaks we get called out to fix.
Do you offer financing?
We can walk you through financing options during the estimate. For storm damage, the insurance claim usually covers the bulk of the cost and financing only needs to bridge the deductible.
